Father you are my friend,
In my testing times your hand you always lend.
I wanted to tell the world you are the best,
No one in this world can compete in your zest.
I have innumerable stories that I ever told,
Oh darling dad you are strongest with a heart of gold.
I still remember my heavy bag you hold,
You made me courageous and so bold.
You made yummy breakfast in absence of mom,
You made my plait with the softest comb.
Always saving me from mom’s scolding,
Trying to protect me, conversation moulding.
You taught me to ride a bicycle,
Also the shooting of a rifle.
You ran breathlessly with me,
The love in your eyes I could always see.
When I attend the classes you waited outside,
Perspiring, hungry, never complaining, you stood by my side.
You got a warm glass of milk at night,
Patting me, encouraging me of future bright.
Dad you were so loving and kind,
A person, like you difficult to find.
You were a wonderful coach and a super hero,
I succeeded with your advice making everyone a zero.
Papa you are so handsome and so tall,
My real anchor of life, saving me from every fall.
You are the captain of my ship,
A surgeon, a doctor, a lawyer for all your mentorship.
I want to present a medal of gratitude,
Oh dad, you made me climb the highest altitude…
