In my school campus there was debate,
All teachers were preparing their resolution with their associate.
What was the most important thing you did?
Teachers in chorus said, we taught the kids.
Some had a struggle story,
How they managed things, no glory.
Some said they learnt to innovate,
Together in school history we create.
Children were counseled by me,
The teachers declared with glee.
I was in direct contact with parents,
Zooming frequently, completing errants.
Life at home was boring,
Most of the time the oldies were snoring.
I had cooked volumes of meals,
With patience and all my zeal.
We were multitasking,
Cooking and questioning from students we were asking.
Gathering and storing food was marathon,
We were teaching calculus and python.
Worst was we did not purchase,
No new clothes no show off no race.
Drinking those Haldi and Tulsi water,
Saving yourself from every quarter.
All these were important work,
We did all, nothing we shirk.
As the noise became loud,
The Principal smile from the crowd.
In the chorus teachers said, ma’am we want to hear your side,
Well, the most important thing, I did in 2020 was that I survived…
